We are seeking a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) to join our team in San Antonio, Texas to Manage and oversee our survey department.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of survey field/office experience
  • Minimum of 5 years as a Survey Project Manager preferred
  • Registered Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Texas required
  • Must be TxDOT Certified or able to obtain certification within 1 year
  • Experience in project Estimating
  • Experience in deed research
  • Experience preparing map, legal descriptions and preparing easements
  • Experience collecting survey data to support our civil engineering department along with our many clients
  • Excellent deliverable skills and ability to track performance and project delivery while working well in a team environment.
  • Excellent experience working with survey crews while setting clear expectations
  • Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with our in-house civil engineering department, manage survey crews and deliver quality services to our clients
  • Manage multiple survey-related projects ranging in size and scope
  • Prepare legal descriptions, exhibits for boundary surveys and the preparation of easements
  • Plan and organize surveying efforts
  • Plan and budget project costs
  • Quality control of the deliverable projects
  • Preparation of survey proposals
  • Foster Relationships with new and existing clients

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson software
  • Construction staking
  • Experience with Trimble GPS and Robotic Total Stations

Also a LAND SURVEYING INSTRUMENT OPERATOR.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school/GED diploma
  • 2+ years of experience in the surveying industry with experience using Trimble GPS Equipment a plus
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Must be dependable and responsible regarding punctuality and attendance
  • Responsible for assisting the Survey Crew Chief in the operation of a field survey crew
  • Must operate equipment, maintain safe work environment, protect and maintain the equipment and vehicles, accurately and efficiently collect field data
  •  Ability and willingness to follow instructions that may be written or delivered verbally
  • Familiar with and able to operate all the instrumentation required for the collection or distribution of survey data (total station, data collector, automatic or digital  level) is a plus
  • The employee is required to: stand, walk, use hands, tools, controls, reach with arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as well as lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • This position regularly works in a variety of outside weather conditions and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
